In today’s world, there are few items more treasured than effective vaccines. But, understanding the vaccine’s value and actually doing something to protect it are two different things. It is absolutely critical to follow proper cold chain practices when handling and transferring vaccines through the supply chain from the manufacturer to the patient.
In order to better monitor vaccine temperatures, DeltaTrak has developed the FlashLink 40527 Certified Vaccine Logger. This unique logger features a large, easy-to-read LCD and an external probe sealed in a 5ml glycol bottle. The glycol emulates temperature changes experienced by most common fluids in storage, to give more accurate readings.
This product conforms to all CDC guidelines and is prequalified by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a temperature monitoring device. Indeed, the CDC recommends data loggers in place of thermometers to ensure better record-keeping. The 40527 Data Logger with Glycol Bottle creates a permanent record which is archived and always available. The logger provides a much easier and more complete way of recording temperatures than older methods such as manually recording thermometer temperatures on a clipboard.
A built-in alarm feature on the logger can also help to preserve inventory after the internal temperature goes out of range. The glycol further prevents false alarms by buffering the sensor against sudden and expected temperature fluctuations during regular use, such as frequent door openings and normal cycling of the compressor within the refrigerator or freezer.
